I think in general the biggest “weakness” for Marimekko is the brand. Currently the brand is in great shape and very attractive, but fashion is driven by trends and they come and go. The good thing is that Marimekko seems to have achieved a “timeless” design style. So it probably won´t go out of style that fast?
Currently I´m quite optimistic about the potential in Asia. The lack of control probably increases some brand related risks, like how are the shops managed etc. but I think there´s more benefits than risks?
